Named by the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) as a “Composer to Watch,” Alex has composed, arranged, orchestrated, and conducted on a growing list of film projects. His scoring work has been praised by the Huffington Post as “a graceful counterpoint” and the Austin Chronicle describes his composition and performance as “lovely music... the audience was transfixed.” Alex is an alumnus of the acclaimed ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop and is a recipient of the ASCAP David Rose Award.

Recent scores include director David Raymond’s Night Hunter (Nomis), the closing film of the L.A. Film Festival. The film features an ensemble cast lead by Henry Cavill, Sir Ben Kingsley, Alexandra Dadarrio, and Stanley Tucci.

Alex was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Original Score by Cinema Eye Honors for director Patrick Shen’s In Pursuit of Silence (SXSW 2016). Notable projects include Ron Howard's Thirteen Lives (additional music); Seadrift (Grand Jury Award, Documentary, L.A. Asian Pacific Film Festival); Hellboy (additional music); and the SXSW award-winning film, Mine: Taken By Katrina. Alex has also contributed music to the Emmy Award winning documentary series, Have You Heard From Johannesburg? In addition to composing, Alex has worked in the music department for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood and Prometheus. His collaborations with composer Benjamin Wallfisch include Andrés Muschietti’s critically acclaimed IT and IT Chapter Two.
